I worked as a design project manager for three years at Joinery Structures, a high-end traditional Japanese inspired design-build firm in Oakland, California, where the processes of design, craft, and construction were closely integrated.

I worked as an architectural designer at Christensen Shipyards for eight months before the onset of the 2008 global financial crisis. Designing yacht interiors required careful space planning and integration with the yacht’s many engineering systems. I enjoyed seeing the interplay between the work we did in the design department and the assembly of such expensive meticulously designed crafts.
I’ve worked on many projects for Dennis M. Thompson, Architect, helping produce working drawings and creating 3d models. Many of these projects have been for monasteries and congregations, often dealing in issues of meaning and significance not ordinarily addressed in commercial or residential work.
